An introduction to National Australia Group Europe, by John Stewart,
Chief Executive and Member of Principal Board.

In my opinion, NAB is the best development opportunity that there's going to be in the UK over the next few years. That's something I want to be part of. Hopefully, once you've had a look at what we've got to offer, you'll think so, too.

Not a lot of people know this, but we're amongst the thirty largest banking groups in the world (Fortune Magazine 2003). We're also the largest financial services company in Australia and New Zealand. But it's here in the UK where things are really getting exciting.

Not that we're exactly starting from scratch. In fact, we already have four banks in the UK and Ireland (Yorkshire Bank, Clydesdale Bank, National Irish Bank and Northern Bank) - and if we put them all together, we'd already be the fiftieth largest company in the UK. But our plans for the future are very ambitious.

For us to keep being successful, the bottom line is that we need to recruit, develop and retain the very best talent. We don't just need smart people. We need people with attitude. People who play hard and work hard. People with passion - for our customers, and for winning. If that sounds like you, then we can offer you a career in one of the world's biggest banks, a bank which recognises, rewards and invests in talent.

Good luck. I hope to be working with you one day.

Chief Executive.
